HISTORY
1950's, 60's and 70's
- The Sporting Club (football club) began in 1957 and fielded its first side in 1958
- 1963 First A Grade Football Premiership in 1963 coached by Bob Rusby and gain promotion to the Division 1 Competition
- Late 60’s progressed to having three senior sides
- In 1973, the Club opened its first ever purpose built clubrooms
- In 1975, fielded its first under 17 side winning the premiership with Wayne McGuire as coach
- In 1976, an under 15 & 17’s.
1980's
- In 1981, the Club extension took place due to increased senior and junior footballers – funded and built by the supporters, players and committee of the football club – new bar and clubrooms.
- The football club was a mainstay in senior finals series and dominated the junior grades in the Glenelg South Football Association and the Southern Football League.
- Sporting club associations with Cricket through the St Marks Cricket Club (later to become the Morphettville Park Cricket Club early 1990s) and the Warradale Cricket Club both utilising the facilities throughout periods of the 1980s
2000's
- 2000 The Sporting Club fostered the creation of the MPNC. The Netball club through the decade continued to grow and become part of the sporting fabric in the City of Marion
- 2007 Sturt Women’s Football Team transferred to MPSC and adopted the name the MPWFC.
- Ties with the Cricket Club continue to grow and the Club regularly win Premierships and field four sides throughout the decade.
- 2007 Netball Club fields first Junior Team and continues to prosper throughout the decade
- Bill Chester, Gordan Hay and Lance Breavington Awarded membership to the Southern Football League Hall of Fame.
2010's
On the field
- Throughout this decade the growth of Junior Sport continues to grow at the Complex – Junior Football, Cricket and Netball experience exciting growth
- Mid to Late 2010’s junior girls sport explodes across Football and Cricket
- In 2013/2014 the Under 17 Junior Cricket team won their Grand Final
- In 2014, first Girls Under 14 Football team takes the field
2015 welcomed the first U12’s Cricket side
Women’s Football SAWFL Division 1 Hat Trick 2014,15,16
- In 2017, Men’s football joins the Adelaide Football League ending a 30 year association with the Southern Football League
- Men’s Football play off in the 2013 SFL and 2017 Adelaide Footy League Grand Finals
- In 2017, advent of AFLW – 13 Girls drafted to the Crows. At the end of a decade total draftees from the club sits at 19
Off the field
- In 2013, discussions begin with Council on refurbishment to clubrooms
- In 2017, Club awarded $500,000 women in sport funding for changerooms
- In 2018, Council commits to complete rebuild of clubrooms and a new oval design at the expense of $3.4M
- In 2019, Clubrooms were demolished and work began to build new clubrooms.
2020's
On the field
- In 2017, advent of AFLW – 13 Girls drafted to the Crows. At the end of a decade total draftees from the club sits at 19
In 2020, T20 premiership for the U16s
Off the field
- In June, 2020, Clubrooms officially opened and club takes ownership
- In 2021, MPNC closes its doors due to not enough volunteers
- In October 2021, Morphettville Park Sporting Club changed name to Morphettville Park Sports & Community Club
