FOotball
Hi all,
Due to a date change for our Senior Trophy Presentation night, there’s still time for our members to nominate for the below awards.
It’s quite simple to do so. All Members can forward any nominations for the below categories, one or all of them, along with one or two sentences supporting the nominations.
The nominations can be anyone from the Men’s or Women’s Senior teams, our inclusive team or any of the Junior teams.
Nominations will then be presented to the Executive Committee and voted on.
The nominees and winners will then be announced at the Men’s and Women’s Senior Presentation, then posted on the Clubs Facebook page and emailed to all recipients of our emails, as per this one. (NOTE: We are sometimes told that people aren’t getting updates from us, so if you know of anyone who isn’t, but would like too, please let us know by email (mpfcroos@hotmail.com) and we’ll add them to our email list.
The 3 awards that need to be voted for are:
Best Club Person for 2024
Kim Bainbridge Memorial Trophy for outstanding on and off the field
Bluey Verrier Memorial Shield
The criteria for each award is as followed:
1/ Best Club Person 2024
As it sounds, this award is for someone who goes above and beyond for the club. Can be anyone from a committee member to someone in a paid position or just someone who volunteers and helps out the club to a level that deserves the highest honour awarded for the year.
2/ Kim Bainbridge Memorial Trophy (for outstanding service, both on and off the field).
This could be someone who could be a player, runner, coach, trainer, water boy, team manager, umpire or time keeper that also volunteers to do other things around the club (off the field) and help out where needed.
3/ Bluey Verrier
Someone who volunteers or helps the club and is not on a committee or in a paid position. But stands out from the crowd with their endeavours.
Please email your nominations to mpfcroos@hotmail.com and make sure you put your reason for nominating them.
Also open to nominations are names for Life Membership.
The ultimate recognition! If there is someone out there, past or present, that you believe fits the criteria for Life Membership, then please put their name/s forward. Before doing so though, please make sure they meet the criteria as per our constitution – see excerpt below:
Life Members
Any Senior Financial Member who shall have rendered not less than 20 years of active service to the Club may be elected as a Life Member of the Club by the Management Committee on receiving at least three quarters (75%) of the votes of that Committee.
A concession of one (1) year may be granted for the services listed below:
Each year of service on a Committee
Each year of service in an unpaid position appointed by the Club
For each thirty (30) senior games played for the Club, a maximum concession of ten (10) years will apply
No more than two (2) Life Members may be appointed in any one year
Please email through all nominations to mpfcroos@hotmail.com by 12pm Monday 14th October. No nominations will be considered after this time. All nominations will be kept confidential. Please remember we have a lot of great people working hard for our great club so please respect those who do win these valued awards and if your nomination misses out this time around, then please don’t complain, just re-nominate them again next year if they are again deemed worthy.
Same applies to Life Membership. With only 69 Life Members in our 66 year history, they certainly are well earned, so please don’t be dis-heartened if your nomination isn’t granted Life Membership this time around, just keep putting your case forward with the supporting facts.
Thank you
Executive Committee MPFC

A PARMY & CHIPS FOR JUST $15 … is just one of the amazing specials on offer this Thursday night, the last “footy night” for the year, as we look to help create a clean slate for the cricket club to take over as of Monday (Oct.1). See below flyer – the prices are all at bargain basement levels to help achieve this, as the drink prices will be, both on Thursday night and again for the AFL GF on Saturday. We would appreciate you dropping by at some stage if you can! 🙏❤️💛 … See MoreSee Less

Alex Barns – Southern Fried for $15 😳 Could be your last opportunity for a while…… 🤔
This is it – the “last hurrah” for the Footy Club for 2024, before handing over the keys to the Cricket Club for the Summer. With Cricket looking to start off with a clean slate as of October 1, the challenge is there to consume all remaining stock, so what better day to do so than whilst watching this week’s massive Grand Final.
Prices are low, there’s cash to be won on various comps and you are more than welcome to bring your own food, or there will be pies and hot dogs available to purchase on the day!
So, if you’re looking to see out the footy season in style, without the mess of doing it at home, get along to the Club for what promises to be a great game.
